TUESDAY 16th OCTOBER - GRIFFITH -DAY OFF

Tuesday brought a day off, no early start , no rough roads and no time constraints.
Treen caught up on getting photos on the photo blog pages and we all did domestic duties ( though Ross could benefit with washing machine training - 2 hours to wash clothes , he set the machine on the longest setting - much sstirring ensued from this goof.)
After a well deserved sleep in, we met up with Tony from 808 for breakfast at Maccas.

Walking around town , we met up with loads of esCarapdians  enjoying the day off.
Stories of cars with all manner of problems were starting to filter through.
We had seen Doc's car come into town on Monday afternoon on a tow truck  whatever could have happened to the elder statesman of esCarpade vehicle? Turns out it was a gear box that had to be ordered from Sydney and trucked to Griffith for installation. Doc would be back with us on Wednesday .

After some shopping it was time to go and assess the condition of the Afro Rocket. We were sure all she needed would be the nuts and bolts tightening , engine and fluids checking and to fix the flag poles that broke within half an hour of leaving Newcastle ..

Fixing the flags

Our mascot - AFRO MAN still traveling well.

The motor was looking very dirty, but still running like a champion.

Ross got very attached to his rasta hat - all things Afro.

After lunch we went to De Bortoli winery.
Both Ross and Laurie had interest in this winery , Ross's father had dealing with the proprietors in the past an De Bortoli is one of Laurie and his wifes favorute wines.

On the way home form the winery we came across  a road called ROSSETTO Rd, so of course we stopped for a photo op for Ross.

Once back in town , wandering down the main street , we met up with Simon (CEO of Camp Quality) , on seeing Darren he showed his pockets were empty and he only had enough for a newspaper for the plane trip home . ( Darren in previous days had kept giving Simon deals he couldn't refuse to gain donations for Team Afro) .

Dinner was a casual affair at The Area Hotel - with everyone dropping by when it suited . This hotel had the hugest mixed grills on the planet

That brought our day off to a close and we headed back to the apartment to prepare for another three days on the road and more early mornings.
